2009 Summer Fun!

Draylen & Taylee had a really good time on their baseball teams this year. Draylen's Rookie Team did really well and actually won several games and was very competitive. Taylee's T-Ball Team was mostly just adorable but they sure learned lots too! I don't have a group picture of Taylee's team because that would require 3-5 year olds to stand still long enough for one...that wasn't happening!
Taylee & Draylen are in Gymnastics and love it. Taylee is really gifted on the balance beam and they have asked us to enroll her in the competitive courses but we aren't ready for that commitment. She has just done a forward roll and spin on the low beam.
Below, Draylen is showing her stuff on the VERY HIGH beam and is really amazing at the floor. She can do a one handed cart-wheel which is just amazing to me.

We took a long weekend and went to Seeley Lake, Montana. It is one of our favorite vacation spots!
We were not able to go up to the lake over the Fourth of July like we had planned so we had our first outting with mini-golf. The kids loved it and they were really quite good.
We pent last week in Idaho Falls, Idaho with Brandon's work schedule. We did everything that Idaho Falls had to offer (sadly, isn't that much) but we had a great time. I took a few pictures of the Idaho Falls Zoo and then some more of the Snake River Falls looking up towards the LDS Temple. We also got to go through the Rexburg Temple while we were there. It was amazing fun. Thanks again Heidi & family for everything!

2009 Easter Hunts & Pictures

The Vaughn Community PTO Easter Egg Hunt

Kaleb, Me & Kenzie trying to figure out if there were anymore eggs that we could get!

Draylen really has the hang of it now and knows right what to do.

Taylee also did very well for herself and didn't hang around for me and Kaleb.

After the hunt, we check out our loot with Kenzie and Aunt Becky.

The kids are dressed for church Easter Sunday.

The kids had their pictures taken today for Draylen's 7 yr. & Kaleb's 2 yr. pictures. I can't believe how big and beautiful they are. I am still amazed at how lucky I am that I get to be their mother. I am so grateful!!

Kaleb's 2nd Birthday

I CAN'T BELIEVE MY BABY IS 2 YEARS OLD!!
Much to my parents dismay, I held off cutting Kaleb's hair until his actually 2nd birthday. We only trimmed a little of the crazy hairs off so that he still had his full head of curls!
Brandon got to help him open his presents this year but he really knew what to do on his own. He just needed some help to stay focused to move onto the next present!
Obviously from this reaction, he was pleased with his gifts.
He needed a little extra help blowing out this candle from dad!
Kaleb is such an amazing little man; he has been an absolute joy to our family!

Draylen's Family Party!

Our family party Saturday evening was a lot slower pace then the gymnastic party. I wanted to post these pictures to show the calmer side of her day. Although, I do not recommend two different parties in one day....a lot of cake!!

Kaleb loved the sea of pink presents that he used to stack and then knock over like a block tower.

Taylee would not leave Draylen's side the entire evening....just checking out the new toys that sister would be sharing with her!

Draylen with here loot. We never let the school kids bring present for the girls at the school party and this is the reason. This is the presents that Draylen got with just 1 evening. No need for school friends to get her any.

We sang to our big girl.

The last seven years have gone so fast and been so amazing. I don't remember life before Draylen and her brother & sister and I don't want to. They are by far the best things that Bran & I have ever done. I can't wait to see what the future holds.

By the way, have you noticed the big whole in the front of her head. About 2 weeks ago, she got her front two teeth knocked out at recess. They were a little loose but it hurt her pretty bad. She loves it now that she knows what she looks like. We have spring school pictures tomorrow and we have been practicing the closed mouth pose but from these pictures....she loves her toothless smile!

What a great girl!!

Parents Gone Wild.....well G version!

The balance beam has nothing on me!!

Aryana's mother, Angela took her run at the trampoline and amazing foam pit.....great form Angela!

Brandon, are you okay?

It took a little extra effort for the two Brandon's (Aryana's dads name is also Brandon) to get out of the pit. I really can't laugh too hard....it wasn't easy for me either.

They almost had to help each other to get out.

That's right...minus my head (nice photo Brandon) that is me showing my moves as I jump into the pit.

I think we all are aware that the purpose of this party was to celebrate Aryana & Draylen's birthday but we paid the money to rent the facility....we took advantage of that. I really hadn't even thought of playing on the equipment until Angela mentioned it to me earlier in the day. After I saw her husband take a dive into the pit....it was all over. I know that the kids had a great time but I can honestly say it was the most care-free fun that I have had in a long time. I think we will be going back for many more birthdays to come.

HAPPY 7TH BIRTHDAY DRAYLEN!!!

Party gone wild!

Draylen gets crazy at her birthday party. She shares the same birthday as her best friend in class, Aryana, so we have their parties together and invite the entire class. This year the girls picked to have their party at the Gymnastic Academy that they do gymnastics at during the summer. It was a great choice. They got to play games, run and slide into the 8 foot foam pit, and jump on the trampoline. As much fun as they had....the parents got a little crazy too but that will be a later post.
Draylen shows her moves as she jumps into the pit.
Taylee is not so wild but still had a great time.
The big slide was a crowd favorite.
The birthday girls with their siblings on opposite sides.
(Taylee, Aryana, Draylen, & Jackson....Kaleb took the party off for a nap)

As soon as it started....Heisey is Over!

THE TEAM!

Draylen had a great time playing Heisey this year. She was absolutely amazing on defense....offense, not her thing. She has no desire to have someone get in her face and stop her from dribbling, so her answer was to stay away from the ball at all cost. She was amazing on defense and her team would let her guard anyone with the ball and then they would take the offense! Not the best plays but very effective. The family had a great time following her and can't wait for next year!

Heisey Rocks!

Tonight was the first game. They have been practicing for 4 weeks but tonight they got to show there stuff. I knew that I still had a lot of competitive spirit but I was actually screaming at my daughter to "get her" about the girl she was assigned to guard. I do believe at one point I had Draylen so confused with all of my instructions that she just stood in the middle of the floor in confusion. I need to take some parent sport educate before next week game. It is only Draylen and one other classmate from Vaughn and the rest are from Great Falls. The two girls are having a ball and really getting good. We are trying to make two future stars. My goal is that all of kids are over 6'0 and we can teach them all (that is right, girls included) to dunk the ball in high school!!
Sawyer & Black will hopefully be playing together form many years to come!
